We’ve come to the end of the series, but hopefully the beginning of a new care plan for you! The Red Tent series discussed Grounding, Cleansing, Loving, Creating and the final, Listening.

Listening to your self may sound like an odd practice, but it is one of the most important. When we listen to our selves, we listen to spirit and our connection to everything. One way we may listen to ourself is to participate in Guided Meditation. This can be through recordings of other people speaking or you may record yourself speaking to listen to later. Here is a short guided meditation you may record and use for yourself. Say these words softly and slowly, breathing fully between each sentence.

Come to a relaxing position, whether sitting in a chair, on the floor or lying down. Allow any thoughts to pass through your mind without attachment. Acknowledge they are there then bring yourself to your breath.
Rest your eyes and take a deep, diaphragmatic breath in… counting to 3, then slowly exhaling. Continue each breath as filling your lungs and down to the belly, then slowly exhaling.
Start to relax each body part.
Contract your forehead and face…then release.
Contract your shoulders upward…then release.
Contract your hands and arms… and release.
Contract your belly and back…and release.
Contract your legs…and release.
Contract your feet and toes…and release.
Feel your entire body fully relaxed.
Now that your body is relaxed, your mind is relaxed.
Take 3 slow, deep breaths then slowly open your eyes.

Can you think of some other ways to listen?
